First Impressions

I'd like to start this blog off by talking about some of the things I noticed about people on first impression.

Taking care of yourself starts off by the simplest measures taken. Often the first impression you leave someone before anything else happens is personal hygiene and appearance. Even if your a genius, I'm sure many people will not exactly be able to take you seriously if smell terrible and look like a slob! Lets face reality! Okay okay, I know were not always dressed to impress. I know I'm not always at my best, sometimes I don't always dress to the nines to the grocery store. I am kinda guilty of it, however, the truth is, I always have time to wash my face and brush my teeth and not have icky looking finger nails and hair sprouting off my forehead and sometimes even off my chin! YIKES!! That sounds like a scary image to me if I neglected those few key fundamentals.
Beyond the clothes and the messy hair, I really do notice peoples oral hygiene, their feet and their eye brows first before anything else.
I feel if I notice a women with a well done pedicure and she is not dressed well, I'm still left with a decent impression of her because the details are not over looked and I'm sure if she was properly put together, she would probably end up making more effort in other departments, because the details of her toes are done. I also noticed eyebrows on man and women. You can tell how well they look in the mirror of the state their eyebrows are in. I often wonder about a women who has really un-groomed eyebrows to a women who sometimes makes an effort to the ones who are really on top of it. I notice the uni brow on guys and how unruly they can get. Some men take a lot better care up there now a days and it really goes a long way! I really like to see man take care of the hair that is on the upper part of their cheek near their eyes. I like to call this the “ape” hair area. That's my own analogy on this area!! A little tweezing boys can make a world of difference!! I guarantee your woman will THANK YOU!!

As this journey begins..

Over the last decade of my life, I've learned a lot of different things to do with beauty and healing. Knowing is one thing, but experience is truly another. It's amazing how much is yet to be discovered and how much I'm still learning. It's nice to have a foundation of knowledge behind me. Some of the things I learned early on, I've noticed my opinions have changed over the years on somethings. Reality can change your perception from what you first read in a book or be taught by another.

I'm finding as idea's float through my mind to how I would like to build up this blog. I discovered how many things I'm re-learning to do it. I'm also amazing how much research I've been doing so I can put this together with the best of my abilities.

Many of my friends view me to be a very multifaceted person. I really feel this blog will have many things in that will share all aspects of my personality. It will certainly give many the chance to see how many aspects there really are to whole self healing. I hope you'll enjoy this journey as much as I will!!

My purpose

I started this blog, mainly because I was bored and I needed to add some spice to my life and secondly I have been an all around artist my whole life and have nothing to really show for it.  If that's not honest, I dunno what is!!

I thought what a great Idea to start a blog over my lifestyle traits that have been solely named, "A little touch of pretty".  Its been my alias for so long that I figured it was time for me to do something worthwhile with it!!   I figured that I had nothing to lose and something more to gain from it, I'm curious to see where this ends up going.  Life's an interesting journey, I'm completely expecting the unexpected.

I figured since I have gained skills and talents as a beautician, healer, painter, decorator, etc.. all things artistic. As well as nutrition, natural therapies, and fitness. I would like to help others in their own pursuit to channel their inner goddess and help them on there journey to make themselves the best they possibly can be!!

There are many idea's roaming through my mind on blogs I will be discussing in the future. From simple instructions to some possible tutorials of how to properly take care of your nails, or to spruce up your massage techniques, even touch on topics like how to breath an meditate, even aromatherapy... the possibilities are endless!

Whether your a stay at home mom who wants to bring beauty and peace to your life to even someone who is an esthetican themselves or considering getting into this profession, to anyone who is a holistic type job and or lifestyle...I'm sure some of the guys may even benefit from some of this depending on what their into... There will be something here for everyone as this blog takes shape as time goes on.

I hope you'll enjoy this pretty little journey with me!! Thanks for reading and following.  I wish you all the best on your pursuit of happiness!!!

Introduction

Hi there! My name is Preeti... Most people cant always say my name right so half the time they just call me Pretty. Which quite honestly, I don't really mind.. who wouldn't want to be complimented all the time!!
My life has been dedicated to being an over all artist in all departments. Mind, body, and spirit. I view most things in life from an artistic perspective. I really like pretty things and I love being surrounded by beauty! So far my name suits me quite nicely!!
During the last decade of my life I invested most of my time doing beauty treatments, I had this huge passion to make people pretty. During my years of doing Esthetics/Makeup, etc... I found out how spiritual that journey really was. I discovered many worlds beyond the superficial world of beauty and found how beauty came from within. I got into the healing arts and took up Foot Reflexology. Over the years of having hands on contact with many different people, I learned much about Reiki. I recently pursued my Level 2 Reiki. When one looks good, one feels good!!
The truth is, when were not right on the inside, it really reflects on to the outside. I found it very insightful being around many different people and listening to there intriguing stories and realizing what really goes through a person mind, body and soul. Eventually when your in that persons space and energy, they eventually become comfortable with you an open up and share there personal stories with you. Its been a great learning curve to be exposed to different people's energy. Its also been a real honor to be their healer as well!
Who knew that I was gonna sign up to become a beautician and a guidance counselor all in the same pretty little package?!! I guess it really describes the true meaning of being, "A little touch of pretty"!!

"A little touch of pretty", started off as an inside joke...but what a pretty little journey this has been!! Who knows where this journey has yet to go... but I like to share with you what I know...

XOXO
